New York City PUBLIC SCHOOLS

S&M Mechanical has been awarded various contracts to upgrade HVAC, cooling, heating & boiler systems in New York City Public Schools throughout the five boroughs.

Including: HVAC for New School based Medical Clinics and Health Centers at I.S. 123, August Martin High School in Queens, and P.S. 66 in the Bronx. HVAC Renovations  - PS 82 Immaculate Conception High School in Staten Island, IS 270 Q.

advanced wastewater treatment facility - RIVERHEAD, new york

National industry recognition for REUSE Project at Riverhead Advanced Water Treatment and Sewage Facility in Riverhead, New York.

(Total Mass Discharge Limit (TMDL) Upgrade, General Construction and Plumbing Contracts) - Plant upgrade and expansion to satisfy newer and more stringent nitrogen removal and discharge standards as required by the New York State Department of Environmental Conservation (NYSDEC). Work includes site clearing, excavation, dewatering & drainage control, demolition and construction of new cast-in-place concrete process tanks, slabs, chambers and wet wells, full replacement of all process equipment, as well as supports, canopies, new prefabricated metal building and startup.

Contract Price: $17,869,900 | Completion Date: 2016

Environmental

As part of New York State Department of Environmental Conservation (NYSDEC) approved upgrades to satisfy newer and more stringent nitrogen removal to improve New York City waterways, S&M Mechanical has been contracted to complete various projects at Water and Environmental Treatment Plants throughout New York.

Completed Work Includes:

Bay Park STP & Cedar Creek WPCP (Odor Control Facility Improvements) - Installation of Odor Control Biofilter Systems at each plant. Includes the addition of Carbon Adsorbers to the existing system, as well as supporting equipment such as fans, recirculation pumps, ductwork, concrete and concrete and new building to house the electrical and control equipment at the Bay Park facility.

Cedar Creek Sewage Treatment Plant, Wantagh NY - Wastewater Treatment Plant Construction

UNIVERSITIES

LONG ISLAND UNIVERSITY - BROOKLYN CAMPUS

S&M Mechanical was contracted was responsible for the following work under contract with JT Falk: Full HVAC Systems for New Dormitory Buildings at LIU - Brooklyn, New York.

BROOKLYN COLLEGE

S&M Mechanical was contracted was responsible for the following work under contract with ICSC: Pre-construction airflow testing. Complete DDC control system with devices, valves, dampers, controllers, panels and BMS system. All control and interlock wiring (in conduit) for the BMS loop system and all components. Chilled water piping system, circulating pumps, valves, expansion tanks, air separator and accessories. Low pressure steam supply and condensate return piping system, steam traps, valves, condensate return pump units and accessories. Refrigerant piping, valves, specialties. Supply, return, exhaust ventilation systems and air conditioning systems, including fans, air-handling units, ductwork, motors, volume dampers, filters, air distribution devices, terminal boxes, heating coils, fire and smoke dampers, access doors and all accessories. Laboratory fume hood and general exhaust system. Kitchen exhaust system and kitchen exhaust ductwork. Air-cooled self-contained or split systems. Refurbishing fin tube radiators, convectors, unit heaters, cabinet heaters. All drains and drainage systems from HVAC coils, protective drain pans and plenum duct drains. Motor starters, motor control centers and variable frequency drives (VFD) for the fans, pumps and all other mechanical equipment as specified and/or scheduled Water treatment systems for all closed and open water systems. Vibration and inertia bases for fans, pumps, air conditioning units etc., and vibration isolators for all equipment and piping. Testing, Adjusting, Balancing and Commissioning.

BOROUGH OF MANHATTAN COMMUNITY COLLEGE (2015-2017)

In Fall 2015, BMCC embarked a project to replace its three decades old heating and air conditioning units, air handlers, pumps and returns. This provides more consistent and energy-efficient temperature control in classrooms, labs, offices and public spaces like the library and cafeterias.

S&M Mechanical was contracted was responsible for the following work under contract with ICSC: Replace existing two 1500 ton steam turbine chillers with one 1500 ton electric centrifugal chiller and one 1500 ton steam turbine chiller; Convert existing bench hoods to low flow high efficiency hoods; Furnish and install VAV lab exhaust fans; Furnish and install a new custom air handling unit for the pool area to replace the existing unit and various other AHUs serving college spaces; Furnish and install control system.

ONE WORLD TRADE CENTER

It was with immense pride and a deep understanding of the historical and cultural significance of the Freedom Tower that S&M Mechanical accepted the work for Tower One.

Between 2008-2013 S&M Mechanical was subcontracted to complete work during construction of the core and shell components of this high rise commercial office building at Tower One. Completed work includes: installation of pipework for domestic and sanitary water systems, the natural gas system, and the Pavilion drainage system for One World Trade Center in New York, NY.
